Blind Taste Test

Devault Foods beefsteak sandwich slices preferred in blind taste test

Philadelphia, PA…Students at the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Philadelphia recently participated in a blind taste-test for beefsteak sandwich slices.  Default Foods, of Devault, PA and sponsor of the event, wanted to see how its product stacked up against a leading competitor.

The sandwich slices were judged based on three categories: overall taste, tenderness and quality. The results indicated the Devault Foods product was superior to its competitor, scoring highest in all three categories.

Culinary Chef instructors, who supervised the preparation of the sandwich slices, noted that Devault Foods steak sandwich slices provided substantially more yield.

“The outcome of this exercise is exactly the results we were looking for,” said Bill Irwin, Director of Marketing for Devault Foods.  “Not only did the Devault product excel over its competition across the board, the most important aspect was that our meat yield was superior,” stated Irwin.

Devault Foods, family owned and operated since 1949, nationally supplies portion controlled meat products for the foodservice industry out of southeastern Pennsylvania. Devault also serves corporate distributors, independent distributors, corporate purchasing groups, restaurants & hotels, business & industry, healthcare, education and the military.
