Food Safety Emergency Reporting Procedure

Devault Foods considers food safety a top priority and in the unlikely event of a food safety emergency, we have implemented the following new additional systems and procedures:

We will provide a 24 hour hotline service for Devault Foods’ customers, suppliers and buyers. This service enables them to immediately report Urgent Food Safety Issues which may require recalls or other similar remedial actions.

If a Food Safety Issue arises after business hours, The Protection Bureau Central Station is tasked to take the appropriate information from the customers, suppliers or buyers and then notify the proper Devault Foods’ first responders (Crisis Management Team).

The assigned Devault Foods’ Answering Service Hotline is as follows:

The key contacts at our customers, suppliers and buyers should have a Devault Foods’ Urgent Food Safety Issues Hotline card with instructions to report the following information to The Protection Bureau Central Station:

  • Detailed contact information
  • Complete name and location of issue
  • Specific urgent issue requiring immediate attention

We also have a voice mail prompt on our Devault Foods’ phone system during after business hours for food emergencies that will guide the caller to The Protection Bureau.
It will say….”If this is a Food Safety Emergency please dial # 7.”

We have printed up cards with the Answering Services Hotline telephone number on it for use as a handy reference if needed. These cards will be mailed out to all sales personnel.
